Gustavo graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from IQ-UNICAMP (2023), currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Bioinorganic Chemistry under the guidance of Professor Dr. Camilla Abbehausen at GREMMLENZ, focusing on studying the physicochemical properties and reaction mechanisms of organometallic complexes, particularly with Au(I), as potential metallopharmaceuticals using computational tools like DFT. Since September 2025, he has been undertaking a Ph.D. research stay abroad, supported by a BEPE-FAPESP scholarship, as a visiting Ph.D. student at the University of York (United Kingdom) in the FreiLab group under the supervision of Dr. Angelo Frei, conducting research at the interface of bioinorganic chemistry and machine learning applied to chemistry
