The Ph.D. program in the direct entry modality is designed for individuals aspiring to take an accelerated route toward a scientific career. Candidates need not possess a Master’s Degree but are required to hold an outstanding Bachelor’s degree, coupled with a well-established background in scientific initiation.
In this research endeavor, the selected candidate will engage in the synthesis of organometallic compounds and investigate their interactions with biologically relevant biomolecules. The scope extends to various activities within the cellular environment. The primary objectives of the project are not only to assess cellular growth inhibition and cell death but also to gain comprehensive insights into the underlying mechanisms. To achieve this, a combination of diverse chemical and cellular tests will be employed to unravel the intricate workings of these compounds.
The ideal candidate should exhibit enthusiasm for inorganic and organic synthesis, possess a solid understanding of mechanisms in inorganic chemistry, and demonstrate proficiency in biochemistry and cellular biology. While prior experience in any of these areas is advantageous, it is not mandatory. Additionally, the candidate should be prepared to spend one year abroad as part of the research program.
